Docents Wanted for Masonic Apartments at the William Pitt Tavern at Strawbery Banke.
Brethren, we are looking for motivated Brothers to be docents (guides) at the Masonic Apartments located in the William Pitt Tavern at Strawbery Banke in Portsmouth, NH. If you are interested in Colonial history and Freemasonry and enjoy meeting and talking with people from all over the world, we have a place for you on Tuesdays or Thursdays or the second Sunday of each month. Weekday hours are from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sundays are from noon to 4:00 P.M.
Strawbery Banke in Portsmouth, NH is open from the first of April through the 31st of October every year. During those months we staff the second and third floors of the Pitt Tavern with volunteers. Our job – to guide the visitors to Strawbery Banke through the Masonic Apartments, both the Museum and Lodge Room. We explain the history of the building and the fraternity especially the history of Freemasonry in New Hampshire.
My Brothers, this is a very satisfying experience. Our goal is to have a minimum of three volunteers there each day. If you can volunteer one or more days each month I can promise you that you will earn the wages of a Mason - great satisfaction and enjoyment of a job well done.
